I’ve decided that I’m going to start writing some articles about fashion since it’s something I’m in to as well. So I’ll be reviewing pieces of clothing as I get them, uploading some photos of outfits and hopefully give you guys some inspiration along the way.
Designer clothing is something I’ve just recently gotten in to. I love cool small logos on items that let people know where it’s from, like a Thom Browne wallet with a tag, but not over the top branding like a Gucci belt. So it follows that I would love the Comme Des Garcons Play items in their entirety, a collection of casual menswear branded with the famous CDG heart. I’m a big fan of everything Rei Kawakubo lays her hands on like this year’s Met Gala exhibit, but especially the Play items that have become really popular streetwear among celebrities.
Well I finally got my hands on one and I really love it. The specific item i purchased is a navy blue pique polo with a red CDG heart on the left. I bought it from Ssense and I’ve posted a link to it at the bottom. I’ll start by saying this a really awesome shirt for a not so bad price, at $195 USD it’s probably the most fairly priced CDG Play item that they offer. I love taking classic pieces of clothing and adding something to it that makes it unique and this polo is the perfect example of that. The pique polo has been a menswear staple for a long time and it’s also a must have for the summer so the designer spin on it is very exciting. The fabric is comfortable and breathable, and the fit is great too. It hugs a little on the arms so it’s great to wear when your workout starts working. You can wear it casually with white and light wash jeans or light chinos as well. You can also throw it on under a lightweight blazer to make it office-appropriate. This is an all around good buy considering how affordable it is for designer wear, i’ll be looking into getting a white one next for sure, and hopefully i’ll get my hands on one of those Met Gala shirts next.
A five star item for sure, I highly recommend.
